The Springfield Preservation Trust will host its Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony to honor individuals and organizations that help restore and preserve historic places in Springfield. The event is open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, May 14 at 5:00 pm in the “Forum” at the new STCC Student Learning Commons, One Armory Square in Springfield. Recipients for 2019 are:

  • Springfield Technical Community College and the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance for the rehabilitation of Building 19 into the Ira H. Rubenzahl Student Learning Commons
  • MGM Springfield for restoration of 95 State Street and the French Congregational Church at 94 Union Street
  • Valley Real Estate for the restoration of the St. James Building at 573 State Street and the Wigglesworth Building at 23 Oak Street
  • Viva Development for the restoration of 263-267 Central Street
  • Icarian Real Estate Advisors for restoration of 175 Mill Street
  • Gary & Stephanie Erbe for restoration of 115 Sumner Avenue
  • Dan Rodriguez & Bill LaPorte for restoration of 102 Maplewood Terrace
  • The Edward Sims Award for Stewardship will go to Elliot & Kay Stratton for 174 Buckingham Street
  • The George Pooler Award for Stewardship will go to Daniel & Kateri Walsh for 42 Magnolia Terrace
  • The Robert Holbrook Award for Stewardship will go to James & Linda Bartlett and Ruth Dumont for 280-282 Pine Street
Click here for a map of parking available at STCC. Parking is first come-first serve. The closest lot to Building 19 is E-Lot, and there is expected to be available parking there. If E-Lot is full please use K-Lot, which can be accessed near the Pearl Street entrance. An outside staircase can be taken at the far end of K-Lot to access Building 19.
